Poems

Rain

It sparks lightning
and broadcasts thunder.
It cancels drought
in the calendar’s leaves.
It weeps for all the trees that stand
and for all the stones that sit.
It may give life
but it drowns
my will to live.
I have tried on every legend like a cloak
and rain is the one cloak
that never fits.
