Translate with us
Our London-based workshops, led by a roster of leading UK poets including PTC’s artistic director Sarah Maguire, are open to anyone interested in learning about translating poems. Each workshop focuses on a specific international poet brought to us by a guest translator. The formal linguistic properties and cultural context of each poem is discussed in great depth. Prior translation, poetry or language experience would be helpful. Browse all upcoming workshops on our Events page or sign up to our mailing list to stay in touch.
If you are starting off as a poet or a translator and are looking for opportunities to gain experience, our Useful Links page offers a list of international literature, UK poetry and translation organisations. We also tweet regularly about upcoming poetry competitions and opportunities for emerging translators.
The Poetry Translation Centre does not accept poetry submissions. We are a small organisation with limited resources, so we concentrate our efforts on developing translations with poets with whom we have built up relationships via our workshop programme.
